REMINDER OF OUR ARRANGEMENTS DURING PERIODS OF BAD WEATHER

 

BAD WEATHER CONDITIONS

Can I remind all parents about the following key information during any periods of bad weather:

 

SCHOOL CLOSURE BECAUSE OF WINTER WEATHER

School will make every effort to stay open during the poor weather.  However, if school does need to close we will inform parents in the following ways:

Text Message and Via the council website – www.rochdale.gov.uk/snow

 

THE SCHOOL CAR PARK

We are likely to remain open through any snow problems, however, our car park may have to be closed. Just to remind you – parents should not be using our school car park.  Please ensure you drive and park safely in any bad weather – it is better to walk a little bit further than have an accident.

 

ACCESS TO SCHOOL

During very poor weather school will only grit the path to the front entrance of school. We ask all site users to use this path in bad weather. The path to Phase One and the School Nursery will be closed. We will attempt to clear the path around the front of school to the dining room doors. In very severe weather the only access to the site will be through the main gate – all other perimeter gates will be closed.

 

COLLECTING CHILDREN

Children will not be released early unless there are exceptional circumstances. Any children who have not been collected at 3.15 p.m. will automatically be put into Tea Time Club to ensure their safety and will be kept until parents arrive – 4.15 p.m. We have made this decision as we have found in previous years that it is impossible to deal with the volume of individual messages from parents who have been delayed due to bad weather.
