“We believe that emotional functioning can affect a child’s ability to access education fully. We believe that by providing a therapeutic environment , relationships and activities we can offer a child the opportunity to achieve their full potential.”
The ThInc room approach has been developed in response to the growing interest shown by schools in therapeutic interventions and emotional literacy. It seeks to merge educational and therapeutic approaches, to provide school based interventions which meet the social and emotional needs of children.
The ThInc room is used for, emotional literacy and individual work with other professional ie speech therapist , occupational therapist and a counsellor.
Different groups of children are invited in for small group work, lunchtime clubs and individual sessions. The room is not limited to the children – our families are invited in weekly to meet, create and share ideas.
