At Shawclough we aim to foster children’s curiosity and deepen their understanding of the world through the teaching of foreign languages. We teach Spanish. Teaching Spanish enable our children to express their ideas and thoughts in another language and to understand and respond to its speakers, both in speech and in writing. We aim to provide opportunities for them to communicate for practical purposes and learn new ways of thinking. Language teaching can provide the foundation for learning further languages and in the future, equip our children to study and work in other countries.
